Playing for Change
The Playing For Change Foundation (PFCF) is dedicated to connecting the world through music by providing resources (including, but not limited to facilities, supplies and educational programs) to musicians and their communities around the world. The foundation will support projects inspired by the communities featured in the Playing for Change Documentaries. I'm excited to see the recent documentary co-produced by Mark Johnson and Jonathan Walls, with executive producers Whitney Kroenke Burditt, Dave Bacon, Joel Goulder, and Jeremy Goulder. PFCF has projects in Dharamsala, India, Kathmandu Nepal, Guguletu, South Africa, and the Mehlo Arts Center in Johannesburg, South Africa (this last one which involves poet Lesego Rampolokeng and Bobby Rodwell). How can people change the world? One song at a time..... Enjoy! Check out their site to hear some of this fine world music, and/or if you find yourself near Denver on November 8th, go to the Paramount Theater.... Have fun!
