Sacred Love
Sting

With a title like "Sacred Love" you can expect to find songs that ask some spiritual questions. Send Your Love is a song that sounds like it was influenced by the events of 9/11. I think one of the messages in the song is to put (religous) differences aside and to accept and love all people. Dead Man's Rope is more of a "classic" Sting song. Sting asks some questions and sounds a little unsure at the beginning of the song. He sings "I've been walkin', I've been walkin' away from Jesus' love." Later he he sings, "The hand of an angel is reaching down above my head. All this wandering has lead me to this place. Inside the well of my memory, sweet rain of forgiveness. Now I'm walking in his grace..." Pretty good stuff... Overall there are a few really good tunes, but Sting could not duplicate the success of songs like Desert Rose and Brand New Day from his previous album. Overall, not one of my favorite albums from Sting, but give him credit for trying some new things.
