When God is Silent
Barbara Brown Taylor
Review by Sue@spiritualbookclub.com.
Reviewer's Rating:
Barbara Brown Taylor is a fine speaker and writer with words grounded in the grit of life. This book asks and does not attempt to answer the gut-wrenching question(s) about when God is silent, well, what the heck is God up to when it is indeed silent, etc. Brown Taylor does not give easy answers and does not make light work of faith. Yet, this book is comforting in the way it handles carefully these questions and in the way it respectfully considers God. Plus, there's an account of W. H. Auden giving a poetry reading which is a luminous story.
